The SSC Combined Graduate Level (CGL) exam recruits for a wide range of central government posts. Tier 1 is a computer-based screening test covering General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Comprehension. Because lakhs of candidates compete for a limited number of seats, small differences in speed and accuracy decide who moves on to the next tier.
Tier 1 is as much a time-management exam as a knowledge exam. You have roughly a minute per question, and each section rewards a different approach: reasoning and quant need quick pattern recognition, while English and General Awareness reward steady reading and recall. Practising full papers is the quickest way to find the right pace for each section.
Every SSC CGL mock test on Mockfinder follows the exam format, is timed to the paper and is scored as soon as you submit. The result shows your accuracy per section and per topic, so you can see whether you are losing marks to speed, to weak topics or to careless errors. Wrong answers carry a negative mark, so the analysis also shows where guessing hurt you.
Start with a baseline mock to see where you stand, then split your week between topic revision and a timed paper. In the last month, attempt a full mock every other day and review each one properly. Keep an error log of the concepts and tricks you missed and revisit it before every new test.
They are built to follow the Tier 1 structure and timing. SSC can revise its pattern, so always check the latest official notification for the current marking scheme and syllabus.
Yes, wrong answers in Tier 1 carry a deduction. The marking for each test is shown on its page before you start.
Begin with one or two a week while you revise topics, and move to a mock every other day in the final month. Always set aside time to review each attempt.
Yes. You can retake a test and compare attempts, which is a useful way to check whether a weak topic has actually improved.
